Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to analyze the best practices for Honor Codes. Research by McCabe, Treviño, and Butterfield indicates that institutions with Honor Codes significantly and positively alter the moral decision making of students within Honor Code schools. Due to the nature of higher education, there is little consensus as to exactly what an Honor Code should be. There is merit in using different policies for different institutional needs; however some practices are more or less justifiable than others.
