Abstract
Reading is a tool that every boy and girl in the Junior and senior high schools in the state or Virginia must use skillfully to attain maximum success in his school learning. The foregoing statement is probably or more importance today than at any previous time. In the classes of English, social studies, and the natural sciences more emphasis has been placed recently upon the ability both to road rapidly from a wider range or sources ,and to understand the material that has been read.
