Intersectional InQUEERies

Volume 1, Issue 1 (2021)

The theme of our first issue of the journal is standpoint. The past year, 2020-2021, has been unprecedented for incalculable reasons. From the first pandemic in most of our memories, to global protests for the protection of Black lives and bodies, to a return to our campus in masks and with desks 10 feet apart, most of us can say, with ease, that our lives have changed dramatically sometime in the past year. The WGSS Journal InQUEERies from the Margin wants to recognize this change that we have all undergone. The goal of our journal this year and for the entries we are seeking is one reflection, a look back at what we have experienced, learned, and lost. By “standpoint,” we refer to the interests, power dynamics, and social contexts in which a work is created. We challenge authors to consider how their work can have different meanings in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and how to embrace the spirit of queerness as always unfinished, always imperfect, always in the process of becoming.
