Abstract
Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a unicellular, photosynthetic green alga is a remarkable organism due to the ease with which it may be manipulated and studied. Cells may be maintained in large numbers and at reduced cost. By subjecting Chlamydomonascells to twelve hours of light and twelve hours of darkness, the population of cells may remain biochemically analogous (Johnson and Rosenbaum, 1993).
