Abstract
This paper examines how recent transportation disruptions influence the corn futures market within the framework of the Theory of Storage. In addition to traditional determinants such as spot prices and storage costs, the analysis incorporates logistics-related variables to better capture real-world delivery constraints. The empirical results suggest that fluctuations in transportation conditions, particularly those affecting inland shipping, play a statistically significant role in shaping futures.
