Abstract
A college sample containing 97 participants using simple and serial mediation analyses showed that avoidant automatic thoughts (AAT) significantly mediated the influence of ADHD on inattention/task avoidance, while perceived stress and subsequent AAT mediate the relationship between ADHD and inattention/task avoidance. The subsegment sample of 91 participants showed that AAT and subsequent task avoidance explain the relationship between ADHD and depression, while AAT and subsequent inattention explain the influence of ADHD diagnosis on depression.
