Abstract
This study investigates the correlation between Florida’s HB1557 and the stigmatization of gay students. Through a video vignette design, participants evaluated the actions of a straight or gay student and recommended punishments in an experiment designed to assess negative stereotype-based responses. We examine the role of support for the bill and essentialist beliefs in observed efects. This study aims to reveal the impact of legislation such as HB1557 on educational environments.
