Abstract
Up till April 5th, 2022, 66.1 percent of people in the United States have been fully vaccinated for covid-19, and 11.4 percent of people only got one dose of vaccine.1 At the same time, the CDC estimates that about 43 percent of the country has been infected by the virus, which also indicates that the majority of children have also been infected.2 With such high rate of infection among people, the vaccination rate is not as high as we expect after one year since the vaccine has been implemented to the public. This paper theoretically captures why or why not individuals will take the vaccine, taking the costs and benefits of taking the vaccine into account.
