Abstract
We explore whether it is possible to determine an independent measure of the distance- redshift relation through analyzing correlations between different waveband luminosities for quasars. Following the recent works that have claimed to find an independent measure of the distance-redshift relation, we focus on the intrinsic correlation between the X-ray and ultraviolet luminosities of quasars and find the find that the power law correlation between the X-ray and ultraviolet luminosities to be = 0.28 ± 0.03. However, we find that an independent measure of the distance-redshift relation is not possible as several recent works have claimed.
