Observing Strategies for Making a 310 MHz Absolute Map with the Green Bank Telescope

Abstract
We analyze observing strategies for the creation of a 310 MHz absolute map with the Green Bank Telescope. Given limited observing time and other constraints, we face a trade-off between several priorities including covering a wide range of R.A. and decl. and porousness of the map. Our results show that a mix of partial-range azimuth scans and full-range tip scans may represent a useful compromise among these priorities.
