Abstract
The purpooe ot this study is to explore the living conditions activities and attitudes of the recipients of Old Age Assistance in Norfolk, Portsmouth and Newport News. Virginia. It was believed that such an exploration by means of a mailed schedule to be answered and returned anonymously would reveal certain aspects of the personal lives of the, dependent aged in these urban areas. The basic aim of the study is to advance the general understanding of the problems, the attitudes and the desires of the dependent aged.
