Abstract
A major responsibility of school administration lies in recognizing current trends in education. One or the current major trends in education today is that or discovering, planning and providing for the gifted child. More than ever, men and women with ability are needed in positions of influence in all fields of human relations and technical know- ledge. To discover and develop talent and ability, and to facilitate their use for common good, must be a major objective of the school and community. "The democratic ideal can be most fully attained when every individual has opportunity for educational experiences commensurate with his abilities and for vocational responsibilities commensurate with his qualifications."
