“Translator’s Note.” Excerpt from The Nicest Body Ever Seen Around These Parts.

Abstract

The Nicest Body Ever Seen Around These Parts (2020) is a poignant work of drama that emerged from the depths of grief. In April 2020, amid the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Josep Maria Miró received the devastating news of the passing of one of his closest friends, the esteemed playwright Josep M. Benet i Jornet (1940–2020), an influential and luminary figure in the world of contemporary Catalan theater.
