Engage for Change Awards

Engage for Change Awards

At the start of every academic year, the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement celebrates and acknowledges students, faculty, staff, and community leaders working together to make an impact in our communities.

Awards honor service, community-engaged teaching, community-engaged research, collaborative projects, advocacy, and activism from the previous academic year.

Awards have been presented since 2014. Programs from the award ceremonies from 2024 to the present are included here.

Artist and emcee, youth empowerment coach, and visionary leader of The Hive, Gina Lyles leverages her lived experience to champion justice transformation. She is from Richmond and has been a fierce youth advocate locally and nationally for almost a decade. Gina previously co-directed the national cultural organizing project Performing Statistics.
