Description
In this bilingual paper, I will explore how Latinx performance artists use their physical bodies in intentional spaces to resist the historically-embedded United States stereotypes as they pertain to the Latinx identity and systemically-protected gender violence across the Americas. Exploraré esto en manera de una investigación sobre el trabajo de varies artistes de performance con el objetivo de contribuir a conversaciones sobre contradicciones, interseccionalidad, violencia de género, desplazamiento cultural y asimilación en relación con la identidad Latinx y / o femenina. Les artistes seleccionados incluyen a quienes atendieron al prestigioso festival Mayo Teatral en La Habana, Cuba, como La Pocha Nostra, Regina José-Galindo y Josefina Báez, así como artistas que utilizaron sus cuerpos para luchar contra la injusticia en espacios físicos y digitales como Ana Mendieta, Lastesis y Angélica García. I will synthesize the works of these artists based on information from archival research, personal experiences, and class discussions to conclude qualitative data on how to use the physical body as a performative tool to resist racism, prejudice, ignorance, and violence against the Latinx community and women.

Exploraré esto en manera de una investigación sobre el trabajo de varies artistes de performance con el objetivo de contribuir a conversaciones sobre contradicciones, interseccionalidad, violencia de género, desplazamiento cultural y asimilación en relación con la identidad Latinx y / o femenina.
