Abstract
During the Revolution the property of George
William Fairfax had been confiscated by the stu te of
Virginia. So by the beginning of the nineteenth century
the vast domain of landed estate had passed from the
hands of the Fairfax family and had come into the
possession of small land owners. Though the battle had been
hard fought, With the process of time, democracy vras
victorious.
