Abstract
Originally from Yorktown, Virginia, Dr. Michael Leopold, Floyd D. and Elisabeth S. Gottwald Professor of Chemistry, came to the University of Richmond with a mission: to show the world that undergraduates are capable of doing R1 research. He was drawn to the University for its vision of “combining scholarship with excellent teaching” and the Chemistry Department’s mentorship of undergraduates in non-traditional classrooms (i.e., research laboratories).
