Faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences are teacher/scholars who contribute to more than thirty departments and interdisciplinary programs at the University of Richmond. These programs offer a liberal arts education for the twenty-first century, including new areas of inquiry, such as geography, digital arts, or computer science, alongside traditional disciplines such as mathematics, history, or classical studies. Our research programs grow from shared willingness to pursue projects of discovery and creation with our students.

Our faculty members make distinctive contributions to new knowledge and are experts in their fields. Many of our scholars invite students to join their research pursuits, leading to co-authored publications, joint presentations at conferences, and collaborative works of creative expression.

The publications listed in UR Scholarship represent a selected list of articles, book chapters, and books that have been published by our faculty. You can visit each department’s website for a full directory of faculty, including a comprehensive list of publications and further biographical information
